On Tuesday, the Year 6 class went up to Gillotts to compete in the Quad Kids Tournament which involved a 600m run, a 100m sprint, a cricket ball throw and a long jump.
The children were split into four groups and every child did each activity with their scores tallied by the Gillotts pupils. Our school came second behind Valley Road and ahead of Badgemore.
It was a great event and extremely well run by the Gillotts pupils. It was a nice treat to get out of school for a class outing after SATs. Well done Year 6!
On Friday we took a team of Year 5/6 girls to the Premier Sport Football Tournament at Tesco AstroTurf. After coming first in their pool, the girls completed in the upper tier league and came first again, making Sacred Heart overall winners for the second year running!
Some excellent defence was shown by Ella, Nellie and Iona; Ela and Natasha made some great saves and Pati, Lisanne, Ela and Natasha scored some spectacular goals.
Our girls improved throughout the matches with our more experienced players giving advice on marking and defence tactics to the others. A big thank you to everyone who came to support!
Year 3 had an interesting and exciting tour round Henley on Thursday as part of their local history project, learning about the life and times of Humphrey Gainsborough.
